The Family Table Project
The Family Table Project of New Hampshire is a 501c3 project that envisions a community where every family has consistent access to assistance, trusted relationships, and meaningful pathways to stability—so that no child or caregiver navigates crisis alone. Need is not treated as an isolated service, but as the beginning of conversation, dignity, and connection.
What is the Family Table Project?
The Family Table Project is a community-based 501c3 nonprofit serving children and families across Southwestern New Hampshire by addressing food and economic insecurity as entry points to stability, connection, and long-term support. We believe that when families are struggling, food is often the first visible need—but rarely the only one. Our work begins at the table, creating spaces & connections where dignity is honored, trust can grow, and conversations can happen naturally. We are a State of NH Charitable Orginazition and Federally Registered 501(c)(3) organization, that builds on years of community engagement and direct service rooted in the region. We exist to meet people where they are, reduce barriers to help, and walk alongside families as they navigate complex challenges with care, consistency, and respect.
How Does the Project Work?
It Begins with Connection.
The Family Table Project operates through a network of community-based food centers and direct, person-to-person microdistribution sites located in places families already trust—such as schools, clinics, and community hubs, and a committment to the development of connection. Rather than relying solely on centralized pantries, our approach emphasizes proximity, connection and relationship. Our work centers in ways that invite conversation and connection, allowing deeper needs to surface prganically.
As trust is built, families may be connected to additional supports related to housing stability, healthcare access, family safety, immigration concerns, or economic assistance. Meeting those who struggle where they are at, forms a practical response and a relational bridge, helping families access broader networks of care without stigma or unnecessary barriers.
Why Does the Work Matter?
Need rarely exists in isolation.
It is often intertwined with housing instability, financial strain, health challenges, and family stress. By addressing needs with dignity and presence, the Family Table Project helps prevent small crises from becoming larger ones.
Our work strengthens families, reduces isolation, and supports earlier intervention during moments of vulnerability. Through collaboration with community partners and a commitment to long-term sustainability, we are building a model designed not for short-term relief, but for lasting impact.
As we grow, our goal is to expand this relational, community-embedded approach into every major population hub in Southwestern New Hampshire—ensuring families are supported close to home and never left to navigate crisis alone.
