Micro Distribution Centers moving westward…

Across Southwestern New Hampshire, The Family Table Project continues to expand its network of micro distribution centers—small, community-embedded hubs designed to bring food and essential resources directly into neighborhoods where families already live, learn, and gather. Starting in January of 2026, we have expended west of Mount Monadnock into the Jaffery and Peterborough NH area. Rather than relying solely on centralized models that can require transportation, scheduling flexibility, and public visibility that not every family feels comfortable navigating, these micro centers are intentionally placed within trusted spaces such as schools, early learning programs, clinics, and community organizations.

This approach does more than improve logistics. It strengthens connection. Families are met by familiar faces in spaces they already trust. Volunteers and partner staff often know the rhythms of the community, understand cultural nuances, and recognize when additional support may be helpful. That familiarity reduces stigma and allows conversations to unfold naturally. In many cases, a simple food pickup becomes the doorway to broader assistance—whether that is school support, referrals to additional services, or simply a listening ear.

Micro distribution centers also allow the organization to respond more specifically to local needs. Each site works collaboratively with partners to tailor inventory, distribution timing, and communication in ways that reflect the realities of the families they serve. What works in one town may not be identical in another, and this flexibility ensures that support remains both accessible and respectful.

Through partnerships with local corporations, foundations, funders, volunteers, and community groups, The Family Table Project continues to grow this neighborhood-based model. The result is not only improved food access, but a strengthening of community ties—ensuring that assistance is delivered with dignity and that long-term stability begins with relationship.
